A New Site!

Posted on June 20th, 2010 in the Unveilings category.

Hi everybody. Welcome to the new portfolio site. This one took me a while. Illustrator’s block and a heavy workload for a month or two slowed me down, but here we are in June, ready to go. If you like the site, you can always say hi on Twitter or submit it to your favorite CSS gallery. Or don’t. Ya know. Whatevz.

Here’s the big changes:

  • New illustrations, layout, and navigation.
  • All dynamic content (including all projects, project thumbnails, and toychest links) are being handled through WordPress. Lots of custom loop stuff mostly based on “if else” statements.
  • Less irrelevant content (no more links to projects on the sidebar of the work page).
  • I tried to make as many URL’s a sentence as possible. I just think it’s cool looking and, hopefully, someone will be able to tell what a page is about just by reading a URL. It might need some fine tuning, so feel free to shoot me an email with a suggestion for better wording if you see somewhere that could use improvement. The idea is from this article from Chris Shiflett. Thanks Chris!
  • I disabled comments. I really don’t like comments on almost any site, but I really don’t think a personal blog on a portfolio site warrants a commenting system. It’s about one person’s voice, not a discussion. If I ever offer tutorials or something, maybe I’ll reopen them, but I genuinely doubt that will ever happen.

So thanks for checking it out. I’ll have a few new blog posts in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that. So yeah, have a good Monday.
