Sold: My Mac Pro

Posted on July 4th, 2010 in the Selling category.

[Update: My Mac Pro has found a very nice home. Thanks to everyone that inquired.]

I’m selling my beloved Mac Pro (2008 Model) which I recently replaced with a laptop. I’m moving to a big city very soon, and I want a machine with a smaller physical footprint to accommodate what I anticipate being a very small apartment with no room for a full size machine. It’s an absurdly fast rig that you can do just about anything with. I’m selling it to you and shipping it free to anywhere in the contiguous United States (that just means all the states but Alaska and Hawaii). Here’s the deets.

Features

  • It was purchased on December 30th, 2008.
  • Its name is Maria.
  • It is an extremely fast machine with 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors and 10 GB of RAM.
  • It is currently running Mac OSX 10.6.3 Snow Leopard.
  • I’ve never watched Twilight on it.
  • It’s a perfect machine for designing, gaming, rendering video, and more.
  • It has never been used for voodoo rituals.

Technical Specs

Processor 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
RAM 10 GB 800 MHz DDR2
Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT
Hard Drive 320 GB Western Digital (I think. Whichever is the default.)

Included

I am including with the machine:

  • Snow Leopard Disc
  • A wired Mighty Mouse
  • A full-size Mac keyboard
  • All the wires and stuff like that

Repairs

The machine has only undergone one repair. A headphone jack was accidentally snapped off inside the front headphone port. The machine was taken to an Apple store and repaired by their staff. It now performs perfectly, and the only evidence of any damage is a tiny bit of scuffing around the headphone jack. Aside from this, the machine has undergone no repairs and has never had any issues.

Price

The machine was $3,200 US when purchased from Apple in December of 2008. I then added another $600 US worth of RAM upgrades. I am selling the entire package, purchased for close to $4,000 US for…
