Crush+Lovely had a Twitter-based Valentine's Day competition this year. The idea was that if they reached 14,000 Twitter followers, they'd fly one of their followers out to New York or LA for a date with one of six internet "celebrities" like Brad Smith, Jina Bolton, etc.

My job was to come up with a cute illustration that had a bird (representing Twitter) getting shot in the heart by cupid. So I made this. That's about it.

I've posted my progress through revisions here. The images start at the first version and end on what I'm pretty sure was the final. The revision I kept getting was "MORE CHEER!" so I… cheered it up a lot. I really liked the sad versions. I was single at the time, man. Give me a break.
